Subject: Invoice [INVOICE NO] — a quick reminder Hi [CLIENT NAME], Invoice [INVOICE NO] for £[AMOUNT], due on [DUE DATE], still shows as unpaid on my side. Could you confirm it is in this payment run, or tell me if anything on the invoice needs correcting? Thank you, [YOUR TRADING NAME]
Subject: Invoice [INVOICE NO] — overdue under the Late Payment Act Hi [CLIENT NAME], Invoice [INVOICE NO] for £[AMOUNT] was due on [DUE DATE] and is still unpaid. This was a business-to-business supply. Under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 I am entitled to statutory interest at 8 percentage points above the Bank of England reference rate, from the day after the due date, plus a fixed sum for debt-recovery costs (£40 if the debt is under £1,000, £70 if it is £1,000 to £9,999.99, or £100 if it is £10,000 or more). Please pay the invoice. If it is still open when I write again, I will add that interest and fixed sum. Subject: Invoice [INVOICE NO] — final notice Hi [CLIENT NAME], Final notice: invoice [INVOICE NO] for £[AMOUNT], due [DUE DATE], remains unpaid. Please pay within 7 days. I am claiming the invoice plus statutory interest and the fixed recovery sum under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, unless our contract already sets a different substantial remedy. If I do not receive payment I will treat this as a formal recovery matter. I would rather close it by payment.
