Edge-repair checklist after removing an image overlay
The hardest cleanup errors usually appear where an overlay crosses a strong edge. Use this checklist before accepting an edited image.
Shape continuity
- Do straight lines continue at the same angle?
- Are curved outlines smooth rather than dented or swollen?
- Do repeated objects keep consistent spacing?
Texture continuity
- Is grain or noise similar on both sides of the repaired area?
- Are tiles, fabric, hair, or foliage repeated too obviously?
- Does the repaired patch become blurry at 100% zoom?
Colour continuity
- Check for a pale halo around the former overlay.
- Compare local contrast and saturation with nearby pixels.
- View the image against both light and dark backgrounds when transparency is involved.
For images you are authorized to edit, AI Remove Watermark can produce a browser-based first repair pass. A short manual edge review is still essential before export.
