A Women's Bible Study

De-Lightful Women

We are women who come from the Light — gathering twice a month to walk slowly through the stories of the women of the Bible, and to become, together, the women God calls us to be.

Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:16 · Our Staple Verse

Welcome

You belong in this story

Welcome, friend. De-Lightful Women is a Bible study for women who want more than a verse here and there — we read the whole stories of the women of Scripture, out loud and together, from the first chapter to the last.

We study these women in depth: who they were, the world they lived in, the choices they made — including the mistakes — and what their stories reveal about God's heart. Some of them were queens and judges; others were widows, foreigners, and women the world had overlooked. Every one of them has something to teach us about faith, courage, loyalty, grief, and grace.

There is no homework to fail and no question too small. Come as you are — with your Bible, your coffee, and your honest questions — and let's learn who God is calling us to be, one woman's story at a time.

Daily Encouragement

A little light, every morning

Sundays are only twice a month — but your faith is every day. Sign up for our daily text and wake up to a short scripture and a few words of encouragement, written to meet you right where your morning begins.

"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." — Psalm 119:105

Good morning, sister. You don't have to see the whole road today — just the next faithful step. He is lighting it.

Our sessions

Every session is a full story, read together. New studies are added here as we work through the women of the Bible.

Golden barley field glowing at sunset, like the fields of Bethlehem where Ruth gleaned Session 1 · Now Studying

Ruth — Loyalty, Loss & a Quiet Redeemer

The Book of Ruth · Chapters 1–4 · Read aloud together, in full

Ruth's story is only four chapters — short enough to read together in one sitting, and rich enough to talk about for weeks. A foreign widow, a grieving mother-in-law, a field of barley in Bethlehem, and a God who works quietly, through ordinary days and faithful people, to redeem what looked lost.

Together we'll follow the choices that shaped her — loyalty over a fresh start, humility in the fields, courage when it counted — and discover what her story teaches about becoming the woman God calls us to be: faithful in ordinary days, steadfast in love, and trusting Him with what looks lost.

Inside this session

  • The full reading plan — Ruth 1–4, chapter by chapter
  • Background on Ruth, her world, and the customs behind the story
  • Ruth's key choices — and what they reveal about God's heart

  2. We read her story aloud

The full narrative, in turns — her whole story, not fragments.

  3. We meet her

Her background, her world, and the choices — and mistakes — that shaped her.

  4. Discussion

Open, honest conversation around the session's questions.

  5. Take-home challenge & prayer

One thing to live out before we meet again, and we close in prayer for one another.

Our Story

About De-Lightful Women

There's a process to a flower becoming beautiful. A seed buried in darkness, pressed through dirt, straining toward the light — and then, bloom.

That's our story too.

De-Lightful Women is a community of women coming out of darkness and into light. We gather to find our identity in Christ, heal from the wounds of our past, and bloom into exactly who God called us to be. Our anchor is Matthew 5:16: "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

We study the women of the Bible in depth — not as distant figures, but as real women with real stories, real mistakes, and a real God who met them in all of it. Through their lives, we learn about our own.

This is a place to be honest. Here we hold each other accountable, share wisdom and lived experience, trade resources, speak encouragement, bring our prayer requests — and celebrate our answered prayers together.

Whether you're a young woman finding your way, in the middle of your story, or further along the road — there's a seat for you here.

Come as you are. Let's bloom together.

Between Sundays

The conversation doesn't end on Sunday

Our GroupMe is where De-Lightful Women stay connected between gatherings — sharing prayer requests, encouragement, take-home challenge check-ins, and each session's date and meeting place. If you're part of the study (or hoping to be), come join us there.
