🚫UNLESS

= if ... not; except if

Meaning: No card = no entry.

🟢AS LONG AS

= only if; on condition that

You can borrow my drone as long as you return it tonight.

Meaning: Returning it is the condition.

🔒PROVIDED / PROVIDING (THAT)

= on condition that (often more formal)

We'll launch the mission provided that the weather is safe.

Meaning: The launch depends on safe weather.

🎒IN CASE

= because something might happen; as a precaution

Take a torch in case the lights go out.

Meaning: Take it now to be prepared.

⚠️ Critical distinction: Take a jacket in case it rains = take it now, as a precaution. Take a jacket if it rains = take it only if rain occurs. For future meaning, use the present simple after these linkers: I'll call you if the alarm goes off (not ~~will go off~~).
