This Privacy Policy explains how Vedas Mandal (“we”, “our”, “the app”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application for mandal / savings group membership, loans, installments, and related account features.

By using the app, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:

Account details: name, mobile number, email address
Authentication data: OTP verification and session/login tokens
Mandal / membership data: mandal code, member profile, and related account records
Financial activity in the app: loan requests, EMI / installment records, payments, withdrawals, and transaction history as shown in the app
Device / push data: push notification token (for example Expo / FCM) so we can send service notifications
App usage needed for support: basic technical logs if required to fix errors or secure the service

3. How we use information

Create and manage your member / admin account
Verify login with OTP and keep your session secure
Provide mandal services such as savings, loans, EMI, payments, and statements
Send important service notifications (for example payment or account updates)
Improve reliability, prevent fraud/abuse, and provide customer support
Meet legal, accounting, or compliance requirements where applicable

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share data only when needed with:

Our hosting / backend service providers that run the app’s API and database
Push notification providers (to deliver alerts you enable)
Authorised mandal administrators for legitimate group operations inside the app
Authorities when required by law

5. Data security

We use HTTPS encryption for data sent between the app and our servers, access controls, and reasonable administrative/technical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so please keep your phone and OTP private.

6. Data retention

We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal or financial record-keeping needs. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise personal account data as described below, except where we must retain records by law.

7. Children’s privacy

Vedas Mandal is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data.

Delete your account using the steps in the Delete Account section

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Policy.

Delete your account & data

You can request deletion of your Vedas Mandal account and associated personal data. The fastest way is inside the app.

Delete from the app

Open the Vedas Mandal app and sign in.
Go to Profile.
Tap Delete account.
Confirm the deletion when asked.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, email us from the same email / phone linked to your account:

Please include:

Your registered full name
Registered mobile number
Mandal / app code (if you know it)
A clear request: “Please delete my Vedas Mandal account and personal data”

What gets deleted: your account profile and personal identifiers used for login. Some financial/transaction records may be retained if required for legal, audit, or mandal accounting purposes. Deletion is permanent and you will need to register again to use the app.
