FastSport Y88 Electric Mini Dirt Bike vs a Gas Mini Bike: Cost of Ownership

A 2200W electric mini dirt bike and a 110cc gas pit bike cost about the same to buy. Over two seasons the math changes.

Fuel and oil

The FastSport Y88 electric mini dirt bike runs on electricity from a 48V 21Ah pack. No gas can, no two-stroke oil, no carburetor cleaning, no air filter oiling. Charge it from a wall socket.

Maintenance hours

A gas bike wants oil changes, plug checks, chain lube, air filters and valve-ish fiddling. The electric bike wants chain lube, tire pressure, brake pads and a wiped fork and shock shaft. That is a Saturday morning you get back.

Noise and access

No exhaust means no complaints from neighbours and no closed-course noise limit to argue with. Up to 53 miles of range and a 28-40 MPH top speed cover most trail and field riding.

What still costs money

Tires, brake pads, chains and eventually a battery pack. That is the whole list.

Pure electric drivetrain - no oil, no plug, no exhaust.
