Keep Excel IDs intact
Turn a CSV export into an Excel workbook that keeps leading zeros, long IDs and decimal text as written.
Start here
Choose the original CSV: a text file with rows and columns separated by commas or another character. Preview it, then download an Excel workbook. Every cell is saved as text, including amounts; convert the columns you need for calculations to numbers in Excel. Digits already rounded or zeros already removed cannot be recovered.

What this can and cannot do
Choose the separator and text encoding used by your export; encoding tells the browser how to read characters. Blank fields, quoted commas and line breaks inside cells are kept. Rows with different column counts or incorrectly quoted fields stop conversion rather than dropping data. Limit: 20 MB. The synthetic example shows leading zeros, a long ID and a line break inside one cell.
